Newsletter #7 You Can Feel Alone in a Room Full of People—Weird, Right?

Hey Lotus,

Let’s talk about loneliness—the real kind.
Not the omg I wish I had weekend plans kind.
I’m talking about the kind of loneliness that shows up when you start healing.
When you’ve outgrown the chaos,
But haven’t quite found the people who get the new version of you.

Yeah. That kind.

It’s raw.
It’s loud in its silence.
It makes you wonder if you made a mistake by walking away from what hurt you—because at least you weren’t alone then.
(Toxic logic, but valid feelings.)

But let me remind you of something you probably forgot:

Lonely is not your final form.
It’s just the hallway between who you used to be and who’s about to walk into your life.

In fact, you might be feeling this lonely because for the first time…
You’re finally not abandoning yourself.

You’ve got your own back now.
And yeah, sometimes that’s a quieter world to live in.
But it’s yours.

🍕 Recent Progress in the Land of Healing and Sass:

  • Made peace with the void by yelling “HELLO?!” into it. No one answered. Still iconic.

  • Realized being alone isn’t punishment—it’s prep work for something way less crusty.

  • Unfollowed three people and somehow felt lighter than a sage bundle on a clearance rack.

💡 Healing Truth of the Week:

"Loneliness isn’t the absence of people. It’s the absence of people who actually f*cking see you.”

🐀 Loneliness Symptoms No One Talks About (But We Will, Because Healing Is Weird)

  • Talking to your furniture
“You’re right, couch. I do deserve better.”

  • Saying “ouch” when you drop something... even if it didn’t hit you.
Because apparently your last thread of sanity did.

  • Creating imaginary arguments just to win one for once.
Congrats, you just verbally destroyed your shampoo bottle.

  • Making eye contact with a raccoon at 3 a.m. and feeling seen.
    Emotional support trash panda, activate.

  • Setting your phone down dramatically… then checking it 6 seconds later like it owes you a text.
    Still nothing. Rude.

  • Crying because the microwave beeped and it felt like the only one checking in on you.
    “Thanks for being here, microwave.”

  • Sending memes to people and feeling abandoned when they leave you on ‘haha.’
Laugh harder, Becky. That was my soul.

  • Rewatching the same show 10 times because the characters feel more stable than your social life.
    Shoutout to fictional emotional safety.

  • Arguing with yourself in the mirror and losing both debates.
    And then apologizing. To yourself.

  • Feeling personally betrayed when a delivery driver drops off your food and doesn’t say hi.
“You’re literally the only human I’ve seen today, Dave.”

🧠 This Week’s Shadow Work Prompt:

Where in your life are you still keeping people around just to avoid being alone?
What would happen if you let that space be empty—and trusted it would be filled with better?

😂 Emotional Support Joke:

Loneliness is when you start arguing with your own thoughts—and losing.

You’re not broken for feeling lonely.
You’re human. And healing.
And that? Is brave as hell.
