Hey Lotus,

Once upon a trauma response, I thought boundaries meant shutting everyone out.
Full isolation mode. Do not disturb.
Basically building an emotional fortress with lava, barbed wire, and a raccoon guard tower.

But then I realized something:
Boundaries aren’t about keeping people out.
They’re about keeping you in — intact, respected, and not chronically exhausted.

A good boundary feels like sunlight through a fence: clear lines, open flow.
You can still love people, connect, share snacks — but nobody’s sneaking in to steal your bandwidth or move the emotional furniture around.

When I confused boundaries with rejection, I kept burning bridges that could’ve just used better signage.
Now? My boundaries are cute, functional, and occasionally electrified.
Because nothing says self-respect like a little emotional perimeter lighting.
